About the Artist

I am a self-taught artist with over twenty-five years of experience in the creation of diverse artworks, including paintings and paper mache sculptures. My artistic focus revolves around the interplay of light, shadow, and colour paying close attention to values and edge work, which informs the variety of styles and subjects explored. I am proud to say, works have found their way into numerous private collections across North America and Mexico.

The creative flow is driven by curiosity and interest, allowing me to bring forth compelling pieces that emerge from inspiration or by simply doing. I find immense fulfillment in those moments when a new creation develops, transforming nothing into something visually striking.  I am constantly striving to be surprised in my work merging realism with abstraction rather than relying on a formula or structured process. 

Recently, I have embarked on a rewarding journey of teaching art in Winnipeg, specifically at the city’s largest art store. Through this role, I enjoy helping others discover their own artistic voices while honing their skills in oil painting. I appreciate the reciprocal nature of teaching—recognizing that in guiding others, and preparing for sessions, it deepens my own understanding and appreciation of the art process, making each teaching experience invaluable.
